PERSONAL TASTING NOTES FROM TONY AND DAVID HIGGINS -

I am recommending Tanzania Kibo Chagga. Our new consignment grown on the Makuru coffee farm, Kilimanjaro, has arrived and is delighting me with its subtle, rich, round depth and fullness of flavour, coupled with its pleasing fragrant aroma. I love the slight hint of acidity in the medium roast, I think it makes a perfect breakfast coffee. The more intense slightly smoother flavour when dark roasted is best drunk after dinner. Its fullness means it is such a versatile coffee, it can be enjoyed as part of most Summer menus. A coffee for any occasion, it can be enjoyed black, or with cream, or served with hot milk

The Sikkim Garden Mark Temi is particularly good at the moment. A light refreshing flavour, very like Darjeeling in character, but sweeter due to the high altitudes at which it is cultivated. This causes the plant to grown more slowly and the flavours developed are more complex. I find it best served black and brewed for about 4 minutes. Alternatively try it with a little lemon.
