Although long associated with tea, India is one of the world's oldest coffee growing nations. During the early sixteen hundreds a pilgrim to Mecca, named Baba Budan, is said to have smuggled some coffee beans out of Arabia concealed in his robes and planted them at Chickmaglur in Mysore in the south of India.
Malabar-Monsooned
Very Dark Roasted
A strong, mellow, almost chocolaty flavour. Very low in acidity. 'Monsooned' refers to coffee grown in the Kerala district, which is stored to allow the monsoon winds to circulate through the coffee for six to seven weeks in May and June. The high levels of humidity, followed by complete drying has the effect of producing a rich, mellow flavour. Recommended for preparation in espresso makers. Serve as espresso or strong cappuccino.
Mysore
Medium Roasted
A mellow, full flavoured coffee with a gentle acidity at the finish. Recommended for preparation in filter makers. Serve black or with cream or hot milk.
