Coffees ‹ Very Dark Roasted
The coffees in this section have been chosen because their characters develop and enlarge in the higher roasting temperatures. Their glossy appearance is because the natural oils within the beans have been released. These coffees are more powerful than medium and dark roasts, but none are harsh or bitter. As well as the coffees listed below we also have original coffees Brazil Bourbon, Colombia Kachalu, and India Malabar Monsooned available as a very dark roast.
Café Centro
Very Dark Roasted
Very strong. Rich, subtle acidity with a smooth powerful background. We blend Guatemala Nueva Granada and El Salvador Santa Barbara. Both coffees are Rainforest Alliance Certified which means they have been produced with concern for quality, the environment and worker protection. Recommended for all coffee makers. Serve black or with cream.
Continental Blend
Very Dark Roasted
Very lively with a dominating bite. We blend coffees from India and Colombia, roasting them very darkly to produce a very powerful coffee with a definite 'kick' in after taste. Prepares well in all makers. Serve black
Creole Blend
Very Dark Roasted
Powerful, rich and very smooth. Brazil and Colombia Supreme coffees are roasted to create a strong after dinner coffee that will suit all occasions. Can be prepared in all makers. Serve black or with cream.
Santiago Blend
Very Dark Roasted
This blend has a powerful, light acidity but no harshness. We blend Costa Rica Tarrazu and Colombia Supreme to create a high quality, rich after dinner coffee or very strong breakfast coffee. Recommended for filter makers. Serve black or with cream.
Sultan Blend
Very Dark Roasted
A very strong coffee with a pleasing acidity leaving the palate experiencing a subtle bite. We blend coffees from India, Tanzania and Brazil. Prepares well in all coffee makers. Serve black or with cream.
Sumatra Blend
Very Dark Roasted
Deep, rich, full flavour with a point at the finish. We blend fine Sumatra with our quality Kibo Chagga to make rich, deep espresso and strong cappuccino. Will prepare well in all coffee makers. Serve black or with cream.
