Darjeeling Makaibari 1st Flush Grand Reserve FT

Founded in 1859 Makaibari is a fourth generation family run Darjeeling tea estate under the ownership of Rajah Banerjee. This tea is part of the Rajah collection and is the finest lot of the 1st Flush season. A well balanced combination of fruit and flower aroma, particularly passion and sweet banana with a subtle herb background, characterize this delicate fine tea. Best brewed for 3 to 4 minutes and served black.

Darjeeling Makaibari 2nd Flush Grand Reserve FT

The 2nd flush from the 2011 season freshly picked and shipped direct from the Makaibari tea estate in Darjeeling. This tea is a classic Darjeeling with a soft sweet flavour and muscatel finish. Best brewed for 3 and a half minutes at 95oC.

Sikkim Garden Mark Temi Flowery Orange Pekoe

Sikkim, a British Protectorate since 1817 and incorporated into India in 1975, lies between Nepal and Bhutan, in the Himalayas, north of Darjeeling. This tea is grown at altitudes of 4,000 to 5,000 feet above sea-level and the remote area produces only a small amount of tea each year. It is much sought after by connoisseurs because of its quality and rich aromatic flavour.

Darjeeling Garden Mark Castleton

The best Darjeeling tea is described by the connoisseur as a 'champagne' among teas, because of its fine character and quality. This is an example of one of the world's choicest teas, which is in limited supply because of demand. There are many tea gardens within the Darjeeling district. We select tea from a particular garden each season.

The Castleton estate lies in the Kurseong south valley and was founded in 1890. It is one of the most famous estates in Darjeeling. A soft, delicate tea with a muscatel aroma.

Meghalaya Lakyrsiew

The Indian province of Meghalaya lies between Darjeeling and Assam and has only recently been cultivated. Lakyrsiew estate (meaning 'the awakening') is set in rolling hills between 3,300 and 4,500 feet above sea level. The tea shares characteristics with Darjeeling being prepared in a similar fashion using plants of the same variety. The flavour is deep and rich with toffee or 'chocolatey' notes and no bitterness. Best drunk black and brewed for 3 to 4 minutes.
