How to make a Moscow Mule Cocktail.

At H. R. Higgins, we are always looking for new ways to enjoy our favourite brews.

With summer in full swing, we have developed our own take on a classic cocktail, the Moscow Mule.

Moscow Mule Ingredients:



Fresh Lime Juice

Your favourite H. R. Higgins Coffee

Ginger Beer

Ice to serve

Lime Wedges to Garnish


For this recipe, we use chilled filter coffee. We would suggest making this in advance so it is cooled, ready for mixing.

How should I brew my coffee for this recipe?

To brew your coffee, you can use pour over or filter, or cafetiere. Brew as normal with hot water and leave to cool. Once cold, you can keep in the fridge until ready to use.

Moscow Mule Cocktail


These steps will make one serving of Moscow Mule.

Step One:

Take you cocktail shaker and squeeze into the juice of half a lime.

Step Two:

Add one teaspoon of sugar to the shaker and wait for it to dissolve.

Step Three:

Add a hand full of ice to the shaker and pour over 100ml of ginger beer.

Step Four:

Next, add 100ml of brewed and cooled coffee.

Step Five:

For the final ingredient, we add the vodka. Take 30ml or 1 measure and add to the shaker.

Step Six:

Shake all the ingredients together.

Step Seven:

Now we are ready to serve. Add ice to a glass, or if you have the traditional copper cup, all the better. Pour the cocktail over the ice through a strainer and garnish with a lime wedge.
