At H. R. Higgins, our focus as a team is always to bring to you the very best coffees and teas, whatever is going on in the rest of life.

The unprecedented challenges of COVID-19 mean our lives follow a very different pattern to the one we would desire. Despite these challenges, we are working hard to continue serving our customers and getting your coffee and tea to you.

We are pleased to report that thanks to the hard work of our team, it is”business as usual” for H. R. Higgins, but we have made some changes to how we are doing things to keep everyone safe.

Duke Street

Our Duke Street shop remains open for both take away hot drinks and for the sale of loose coffee and tea.

Social distancing is in force at Duke Street so we ask that all customers show respect for our hard working staff and for fellow customers by observing these guidelines by keeping 2 metres apart. We are also limiting the number of customers in store.

In the interest of safety and to limit contact, card and contactless payments are preferred.

A selection of our most popular loose teas and coffees will be available. If you have any queries about our shop list, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Customers who wish to pre-order their teas and coffees can call in advance and arrange collection from our shop.

Due to the circumstances, we have reduced staff levels which may mean an increase in waiting times. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.

Our staff have been issued with Personal Protective Equipment, including visors for their protection, though we understand that this sight can be a little unnerving.

The shop opening hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 6pm on Saturday. We remain closed on Sunday.

Our Coffee Lounge will remain closed until further notice, in line with government guidance.

Our Roastery

Throughout this pandemic, we have been taking measures behind the scenes to enable us to continue serving our customers and fulfilling all orders for delivery.

We have been practicing social distancing at our roastery and working with a smaller than normal team to ensure safety.

Our customer service team will be working remotely during this period.

Our telephone lines will be open 10am – 1pm, Monday to Friday. We will be closed on weekends and Bank Holidays.

If you cannot get through on our phone lines, or you call outside of these hours, please leave a message on our answer machine stating your name, customer number and a return telephone number and one of the team will come back to you as soon as we can.

During lockdown periods, we are sorry that we will not be allowing visitors to our roastery.

Throughout this crisis, the safety of our staff has been our main priority. For that reason, we hope that you can understand the changes we are making. Our team are working incredibly hard to maintain a service for our customers, despite these difficult circumstances.

Safety First…

Our first priority is the safety of our patrons and our staff and though these decisions have not come easily, we feel ultimately that we are doing the right things in the current climate.

We have taken action to try and minimize disruption we aim deliver as normal. All of our products carry a best before date of at least 6 months as standard and we are hopefully that we can continue providing coffee and tea for the foreseeable future.
