Ethical trading has always been an integral part of our ethos. The founder, Harold Higgins established direct contact with African farmers in Tanganyika (now Tanzania) in the 1950s and successfully imported their coffee to the UK. We value our connections with all our suppliers both old and new.

As a company we ensure ethical sourcing by only purchasing from companies with ethical business policies. Particularly in regard to coffee and tea purchasing where we actively pursue buying from fully traceable and sustainable resources either through certifications such as Fairtrade or Rainforest Alliance, or from specific estates and co-operatives.

We recognise that our company has a duty towards minimising its impact on the environment.

Wherever possible we source locally.

Packaging material is kept to a minimum and is reviewed for its recyclability and bio-degradability.
