Product Description

Coffee: Honduras Decaf Coffee

This decaffeinated Honduran coffee is decaffeinated by bathing steamed, unroasted beans in compressed carbon dioxide liquid which absorbs the caffeine. The liquid is removed and returned to a gaseous state to release the caffeine before reuse.

We roast this very dark which lends a dark chocolate flavour with a hint of cherry richness.

We recommend brewing this Honduran Decaf coffee as a filter or pourover. Use 19g of coffee per 250ml of water and serve black or with cream.

If you use this coffee in an espresso machine we recommend you buy beans and grind your own coffee as the fineness of the grounds can vary quite considerably according to which kind of machine you are using.

H.R. Higgins sources all of its coffee through long-established relationships with individual coffee farms, cooperatives and trusted coffee partners. In most cases, we have direct relationships with farmers which span decades.

Sustainability is a hugely important factor to us as a business and now, more generally in the wider coffee industry. The most important part of the entire coffee process is that the coffee farmers, their families and their communities all benefit from our relationships. Specifically, we work with farms that care for the local environment, and support both their workers and their families. This is the first and most crucial step in the process of producing exceptional coffee.
