Japan Sencha

This is a Sae Midori cultivar which is a premium Sencha in Japan. It’s from an organic family run garden in Kyushu.

Product Description

The deep green needle shaped leaves are a sign of the good quality. The steaming process and Japanese plants give the characteristic umami profile of a premium Japanese Sencha tea with a hint of sweetness. It is an ideal digestif or can be enjoyed any time of day.

Recommended infusion time 4 minutes at 65C.

Or to intensify the umami character 2 minutes at 40C.

Further short infusions of 10 or 20 seconds are possible.

When infusing this tea we recommend that you never stir the leaves in the pot. This tea is very delicate and best left to rest otherwise too many tannins will be released.
