Mr Higgins recommends - Guatemala Nueva Granada

Grown by Dieter and Holly Nottebaum who have been supplying us with their excellent coffee for the last nineteen years. Both Dieter and Holly are keen supporters of the local environment and its people, including providing scholarships for the local children.

We light roast Guatemala Nueva Granada to develop and highlight its complex and intriguing flavours, with hints that remind us of nectarine and apple. It will show its flavour notes when prepared by all coffee making methods.

I enjoy it most when I use the pour-over filter system. If you are using a Cafetiere plunger pot I suggest being just a little more generous with the amount of ground coffee you use, and as we always say, when talking about any of our varieties, we recommend you having your own coffee grinder, to enjoy the complete experience of preparing and drinking your special cup of coffee.

With my very best wishes.

Sincerely

Tony Higgins

Rwandan Women's Cooperative Coffee - Mr Higgins Recommends

This month I am recommending a coffee produced by women. The Rwanda Women’s Cooperative Coffee Rusiga Sector is a collection of small farms entirely owned by women. They took over the ownership of their lands and are now expert coffee farmers with the help of the Kinini Project.

Mr Higgins recommends - Guatemala Nueva Granada

For February I am recommending one of my favourite light roasted coffees, Guatemala Nueva Granada from Central America. Grown high up in the remote area of San Marcos in sight of Central America’s highest mountain with its twin peaks, the extinct volcano, Tajumulco.
