Welcome to Whitby!

Say Hello to our new roaster...

On a damp August morning, we finally took delivery of our new roaster.

We say finally as the shipment was expected several months earlier, however, the arrival of COVID-19 somewhat disrupted the process!

The installation was certainly a family affair, with Mr Tony, David and Nick all there to help, along with other members of the H. R. Higgins team.

"With the new roaster, we were looking for something that would combine the history and tradition of H. R. Higgins but also help us step forward into the 21st century. This Probat machine was hand built in Germany by Kirsch & Mausser. Just as with our old machine, this one is gas powered with a rotating drum. However, this new roaster will allow us much finer control over each batch we roast. We're very excited about what we will be able to achieve with this new machine, elevating our quality even more to improve your H. R. Higgins favourites."

Thankfully, the weather was a little more kind to us over the weekend of the move! The sun was shining and the sky was blue over Whitby, not a rain cloud in sight.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to the local community who helped us move into our new home, and for such a warm welcome!

After a mammoth effort from the whole Higgins team, we managed to get moved into the new roastery in just a few days.

Everything was up and running and we were ready to get back to business as usual, and it wasn't long before we were back to it and working on your orders.

Once again, we want to say a big thank you to all of our customers for bearing with us during the move and while we've been settling into our new home. And now for the next chapter.
