Finca Buenavista, Pink Bourbon
Finca Buenavista, Pink Bourbon is grown by Jeisson Fabian Ortiz Avendano at Finca Buenavista in the mountains of La Plata, Huila.
A first-generation coffee grower, Jeisson began cultivating coffee only four years ago. His six-hectare farm sits at 1,860 metres above sea level, where Pink Bourbon grows alongside Castillo and Catimor varieties. The remaining land is planted with avocados.
During harvest, Jeisson works with a small permanent team and seasonal pickers from across Colombia. After harvesting, the cherries are de-pulped, dry fermented in stainless steel tanks, rinsed, and carefully dried using both solar and mechanical dryers.
Expect notes of strawberry, raspberry, citrus and delicate floral hints.
Best enjoyed as a filter coffee. Ideal for pour-over, AeroPress or cafetière. A moka pot will highlight its brighter character.
