A remarkable Gesha to join the H.R.Higgins Collection from Colombia. It is grown by Cesar Augusto Pedroza at Finca La Camelia in the hills of Garzón, Huila. His one-hectare farm sits at 1,700 metres above sea level in the village of Las Mercedes, where he cultivates 1,300 Gesha trees that are now four years old.
Harvest typically peaks in May and June in this part of central Huila, with a smaller secondary crop later in the year. In recent seasons, however, these patterns have begun to shift, most likely due to changes in the climate.
Expect notes of white peach and bright citrus, with lemon and lime zest, layered with heady florals.
Finca La Camelia is particularly rewarding when prepared as a filter coffee. Excellent for pour-over, AeroPress or cafetière.
